After volunteering with the Columbus Salvation Army in December 2021, Ahola Employee Christy Ernst was heartbroken to learn that only 30 bikes were donated for nearly 3,000 kids in need in the Columbus area. After seeing this lack of support for kids in our community, Christy took it upon herself to launch a Community Bike Drive in Columbus, calling on fellow business leaders and community members to sponsor or donate a bike for a child. In partnership with the 411 Foundation and TREK's Westerville Location, Kids on Bikes Columbus was born!
In partnership with TREK Westerville and the 411 Foundation, companies and individuals can donate funds for a TREK bike and helmet at the discounted rate of $250.00 and will receive a 501(c)(3) Tax-Compliant Donation Receipt. Bikes will be purchased at TREK Westerville and delivered during the year to children in need, identified through varying organizations, including the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. In 2022, Ahola Payroll & HR Solutions is celebrating 55 years in business, and we are striving to donate 55 bikes to children in Columbus, with the help of our clients, partners, and community!

After working at Children Services in the Emancipation Department for several years, Sean Patterson started The 411 Foundation to address areas of unfulfilled need. The 411 Foundation was founded in November 2010 in honor of his father, James Edward Patterson, who passed away in 1985. James stood 4’ 11”, but had a “giant” presence in his community and outreach programs. This foundation is dedicated to the life and works of James Edward Patterson who as a father, friend, and coach, was passionate about helping others. He worked to inspire young adults to reach their full potential.
